The Communist Party of India (CPI) is set to organize a 'Chalo Vijayawada' program on October 26, demanding house sites and the construction of dedicated residential colonies for municipal workers. This initiative aims to bring the long-standing demands of municipal workers to the government's attention.

According to The Hans India, CPI State leader Tatipaka Madhu announced the program while addressing municipal workers in wards 8, 9, and 10 in Rajamahendravaram. He urged all workers, their families, and the urban poor to participate in the program.

Madhu highlighted that many municipal employees, despite serving local bodies for years, do not own houses. The Hans India reported that they are forced to live in rented accommodation and cramped houses.

He demanded that the government develop special colonies for municipal workers and provide eligible employees with house sites and assistance for constructing houses.

Madhu also urged the government to allot house sites to poor families living in urban areas and extend financial assistance for building permanent houses.

This 'Chalo Vijayawada' program is a significant step towards improving the living conditions of municipal workers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and providing them with housing security.
