The DMK party has announced its support for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protests against the special summary revision of electoral rolls and Chief Election Commissioner Gnanesh Kumar. This decision was made during a meeting of party MPs on Saturday, chaired by DMK President and former Chief Minister MK Stalin.

By backing these protests, the DMK has clarified its political stance. The party is maintaining a distance from the Congress party, which is also leading protests against the Election Commission.

The DMK has accused both the Congress and the ruling TVK party of adopting a dual approach regarding the electoral roll revision. The meeting resolved to demand the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gnanesh Kumar and the cancellation of the special summary revision.

The meeting also called for the reintroduction of ballot papers. These demands will be central to the CJP's ongoing protests.

DMK Deputy General Secretary and Parliamentary Party Leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi made these announcements after participating in a protest in Chennai on Friday.
