Ameer Ali, an 85-year-old resident of Basavataraka Nagar in the Filminagar division of Khairatabad Assembly constituency, received an SIR notice. He expressed his anger by holding a placard that read, “I am 85 years old. I am still alive.”
A total of 119 residents in the Basavataraka Nagar area received SIR notices. Ameer Ali was among those who received these notices.
Ali stated that he has resided in the locality for the past 30 years and has participated in 11 elections. He questioned the notice, noting his name was on the 2002 electoral roll.
Before 1996, Ali was registered as a voter in the Makthal constituency. He subsequently cast his vote multiple times in the Khairatabad constituency.
