Farmers in the Choppadandi constituency of Karimnagar district are facing discrimination in irrigation water distribution. They allege that MLA Gangula Kamalakar is obstructing the release of water to their area.
On Wednesday, farmers staged a protest at the D-86 canal in Choppadandi, demanding irrigation water. They expressed distress over the lack of water for their crops, which they fear will lead to significant losses.
Farmers stated that MLA Gangula Kamalakar claimed there were no crops in their area, unlike in the Peddapalli region where crops are present. They view this as a clear act of discrimination against them.
The farmers also reported that the MLA threatened to jump from a bridge if water was released. This statement further intensified the farmers' concerns and frustration.
Protesters lamented the unfortunate situation where farmers are forced to take to the streets to demand water. They called for justice and equitable distribution of resources.
This irrigation water issue is causing severe hardship for farmers in the Choppadandi constituency of Karimnagar district. Without adequate water, farmers face financial ruin, which in turn impacts the state's agricultural sector.
