Harish Rao alleged a conspiracy against Telangana regarding the Godavari-Cauvery river linking project during a press conference at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday.

He stated that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is supporting this alleged conspiracy. Harish Rao claimed that the Andhra Pradesh government is eyeing Godavari river waters after the failure of the Banakacherla-Nallamala Sagar project.

He further mentioned that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to the Centre on October 7 this year, requesting the Godavari-Cauvery link project to be initiated from Polavaram.

Harish Rao accused Chandrababu Naidu of starting to exploit Godavari waters immediately after the Revanth Reddy government was formed in Telangana.

In light of these developments, a meeting of the National Water Development Agency (NWDA) is scheduled to take place in Delhi on November 3 next month, he informed.

Harish Rao clarified that Telangana would only agree to the Ichampally-Cauvery link if 50 percent of the water is allocated to the state.
