Voter registration for the upcoming Mahabubnagar, Hyderabad-Rangareddy Graduate MLC election is proceeding at a slow pace in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Only 31,594 graduates have applied for voting rights across the 15 mandals in the district so far.
The deadline for graduates to register their vote is November 6, leaving just 19 days for eligible individuals to complete the process.
In the previous MLC election, the five constituencies within the district had 1,35,942 registered graduate voters. The current registration drive shows a drop in this number.
Over one lakh graduates have not yet applied for their voting rights. It is uncertain whether this large number of individuals will register within the remaining 19-day period.
Concerns are emerging that the number of graduate voters might decrease instead of increasing. There is a clear need to accelerate the voter registration process.
As applications will not be accepted after November 6, eligible graduates are urged to register their voting rights immediately.
