The deadline for filing nominations for the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) elections concluded on Sunday. Nearly 1,000 nominations were filed for corporator seats across the 120 wards.
The final day for submitting nominations saw a rush of aspirants. For the mayor's post, approximately 15 nominations were filed on Sunday alone.
Over the three-day period, a total of 29 candidates submitted nominations for the mayor's position. Of the total corporator nominations, around 590 were filed during the first two days.
On Sunday, approximately 500 nominations were filed for the corporator seats. The nomination phase for the GVMC elections has now concluded.
