In Hyderabad on October 3, former Minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao accused the Congress government of a severe failure in electricity supply across the state. He remarked, addressing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, that 'the days of power cuts from that time have been brought back.'
Harish Rao criticized the Congress government for its abysmal failure in providing free and quality electricity in the state. These criticisms were published by ABN on October 3, 2026.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had previously stated he would 'bring back the good old days,' but in reality, he has 'reintroduced the dark days and power cuts from that time,' Harish Rao posted on 'X' (formerly Twitter).
He further criticized that the government has given up on providing even a minimum of 6 hours of quality electricity per day, let alone 24-hour power supply for agriculture.
Harish Rao stated that the government is attempting to shirk its responsibilities by citing drought or El Niño conditions as an excuse, but crops in the fields are withering due to lack of water and electricity.
Farmers and citizens in Telangana are facing severe hardships due to these power cuts. This situation negatively impacts the state's economy, particularly the agricultural sector.
