BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao criticized the state government as fine rice prices in Telangana are becoming a burden on common people. He questioned the government on this issue in Hyderabad on October 5.

According to prabhanews.com, Harish Rao stated that fine rice prices have increased by approximately 25% in the last four months. He expressed concern that this increase is adding to the household burden of ordinary citizens.

Prabhanews.com reported that current market reports indicate fine rice prices in the Telangana market range from approximately Rs. 65 to Rs. 83 per kilogram, depending on the variety and quality. The report also mentioned that prices for some varieties, which were between Rs. 50-55 four months ago, have significantly increased.

Harish Rao demanded that the government immediately review the rise in essential commodity prices and implement control measures. He suggested increasing surveillance on the prices of other essential commodities in addition to rice.

Harish Rao appealed to the government to conduct inspections on illegal hoarding and artificial scarcity. He believes that price control can be achieved through these measures.

The increase in rice prices in Telangana directly impacts consumers across the state. Immediate action by the government to control essential commodity prices would bring relief to the public.
