Former Minister Harish Rao has expressed strong disapproval over the increase in RTC bus fares during the festival season in Telangana. He stated that ticket charges have been doubled across all routes in the state, emptying people's pockets and dampening their festive spirit. Harish Rao made these remarks in a post on X.

Harish Rao pointed out specific instances of fare hikes, noting that the fare from Mahabubnagar to MGBS, which was previously Rs. 220, is now being charged at over Rs. 290. He also alleged that a ticket that cost Rs. 230 has been increased to Rs. 400. He criticized the reduction of regular bus services and the collection of exorbitant fares under the guise of special buses.
