More than 400 Indian-origin students, researchers, and alumni from leading universities across 27 countries have signed a statement criticizing street protests in India. The statement, released on October 19, described these demonstrations as 'anarchic' and expressed strong disapproval of actions that aim to undermine public confidence in India's constitutional institutions. Individuals associated with institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Princeton University, Harvard University, Yale University, Stanford University, Columbia University, London School of Economics (LSE), and the National University are among the signatories.

Titled “Spare India from Anarchy,” the declaration voiced concerns about the integrity of India's democratic framework and the state of public order. The academics collectively called for the preservation of peace and stability within the country. This statement was made public on October 20, reflecting the diaspora's perspective on internal Indian affairs.
