Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy initiated the second phase of the Indiramma housing scheme on Monday, coinciding with the Dasara festival. He distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries from his camp office in Kusumanchi, located in the Palair constituency.
Minister Ponguleti announced that the Congress government has approved 4.5 lakh houses in the initial phase across the state. An additional 2.5 lakh houses have been sanctioned in this second phase of the program.
Approximately 2.4 lakh Indiramma houses have already been completed throughout Telangana, the minister noted. Efforts are also underway to construct one lakh houses in the CURE area, where the building of Indiramma Towers has commenced.
Houses are being allocated in stages to eligible low-income families residing in rural areas and tribal hamlets. Ponguleti assured that the government would continue to sanction houses in the third and fourth phases, despite facing financial constraints.
