Restoration work at Kapra Lake in Hyderabad is progressing at a brisk pace. Approximately 60% of the ₹35 crore project has been completed, according to HYDRAA officials.

The lake is one of 14 waterbodies included in the second phase of the agency’s lake restoration programme. The project covers the lake’s 112.80-acre full tank level (FTL) area.

Farmers who own land within the lake boundaries have voluntarily offered 70 acres in the FTL area for development. These farmers met the HYDRAA commissioner and submitted a letter of consent.

Local residents have been visiting the site to see the progress of the work. This restoration project is expected to contribute significantly to the ecological balance of Hyderabad and the quality of life for local residents.

Upon completion, Kapra Lake will regain its former glory. This will not only improve the local environment but also provide a pleasant atmosphere for the public.
