Farmers in Karnataka are obstructing the release of Telangana's water share from the Tungabhadra Dam. This action led to protests by farmers in Gadwal on October 16.

The obstruction has stopped the natural flow of water to the RDS anicut, leaving Telangana farmers without their due share.

For five days, the water release has been halted, preventing the expected flow from reaching the fields. This situation poses a threat of crop damage.

Under the proportional method, a portion of the 3 TMC water allocated to the state is being diverted upstream, failing to reach the RDS anicut.

Despite the commencement of water release five days ago, the anticipated flow has not materialized, putting crops at risk of drying up.

Farmers are demanding the immediate release of Telangana's water share and are urging officials to address the issue promptly.
