Kalvakuntla Kavitha, president of Telangana Rakshana Sena, has criticized Government Order (GO) No. 1195, issued by the state government, which reduces the salaries of National Health Mission (NHM) employees. She demanded the immediate cancellation of this order.
Speaking to reporters at the party office in Banjara Hills, accompanied by leaders of the NHM employees' joint action committee, Kavitha stated that the decision is unfair. She urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to intervene and review the order.
Kavitha highlighted that approximately 17,000 NHM employees are working across the state. She alleged that the new GO has resulted in salary reductions of Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5,000 for some employees.
She questioned the government's justification for cutting salaries during a period of rising prices and inflation. This move impacts the financial stability of the employees.
Kavitha warned that if the government fails to address the concerns of NHM employees, a large-scale protest would be organized. She affirmed her readiness to support the employees in their struggle.
