Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has criticized the Congress party, which is in power in Telangana, for adopting double standards. He stated in a Sunday announcement that the party is acting one way in Delhi and another way in Telangana.

Kishan Reddy questioned what kind of democracy it is when Congress leaders enjoy freedom of expression in Delhi, but impose restrictions on BJP protests in Telangana.

Disha daily reported that the BJP state president Ramachandra Rao and several other key leaders, who are raising public issues in Telangana, are repeatedly being placed under house arrest and arrested, thereby suppressing the voice of the opposition.

He questioned why there is no law and order problem when protests are held on the roads in Delhi or when a sit-in is staged in front of Lok Bhavan demanding the removal of the CEC, but such issues arise only for BJP protests in Telangana.

Suppressing the voice of the opposition in Telangana is against democracy and will affect the political atmosphere in the state, according to Disha daily.
