BRS Working President KTR alleged that Congress leaders are eyeing the funds of cooperative societies. He assured that they would resist the nominated system for cooperative society governing bodies.

Society chairmen from various districts met KTR at Telangana Bhavan on Friday. On this occasion, he clarified that it is not right for the government to form governing bodies for cooperative societies through a nominated system.

KTR reminded that cooperative societies developed due to KCR's efforts during the BRS regime. He stated that when Telangana was formed, cooperative societies had Rs. 13,000 crores, and during nine and a half years of BRS rule, these funds reached Rs. 73,000 crores.

PACS presidents submitted a petition to KTR, stating that cooperative banks are in a dire situation, unable to even provide crop loans to farmers. KTR advised them to pressure the government to hold elections for PACS.

KTR assured that BRS would stand by cooperative society members and farmers. These developments are likely to impact the future of the cooperative sector in Telangana.
