BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao attacked the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, while speaking to party leaders and workers in Hyderabad on Sunday.
KTR's charges
- Before the 2023 election, Congress promised six guarantees within 100 days, 13 declarations and 420 promises in all. KTR says none has been fully delivered after more than 1,000 days.
- He alleged that under the Revanth Reddy government, Telangana has become an "ATM" for Rahul Gandhi.
- He said Rahul Gandhi speaks on students' issues across the country but does not visit Telangana.
- He also accused the BJP-led Centre of dividing people.
KTR alleged corruption in the state, but did not give specific evidence in this speech.
The government's position
Neither Congress nor CM Revanth Reddy has responded to the latest remarks. The government has said on several occasions that it is implementing the six guarantees. The CM has pointed to free bus travel for women, the ₹500 gas cylinder, free power up to 200 units and the crop loan waiver.
