Land resurvey work in Andhra Pradesh has come to a halt due to the ongoing local body elections. Officials are currently engaged in election duties, which prevents the resurvey process from moving forward.
Village surveyors, village revenue officers (VROs), and revenue and survey staff at mandal and division levels are all assigned to election tasks. This widespread involvement makes it difficult to meet the established targets for the land resurvey.
Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) and Tahsildars are serving as election authorities. They are unable to oversee the land resurvey work, further slowing down the initiative's progress.
Employees cannot meet the 50-day targets because of their election responsibilities. The Survey Director confirmed that the resurvey work stopped due to the elections.
Full-scale execution of land resurvey tasks is not possible as village surveyors, VROs, and revenue and survey staff at various administrative levels are on election duty.
The land resurvey work will regain momentum once the election process concludes and officials return to their regular duties.
