Ministers, MLAs, Members of Parliament, and other political parties from Mahabubnagar district proposed diverting the Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme from Narlapuram. CPM Nalgonda District Secretary Thummala Veerareddy strongly condemned this proposal.

The state cabinet decided to implement the Palamuru-Rangareddy and Dindi Lift Irrigation Schemes to provide irrigation water to Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, and Rangareddy districts. The previous government decided that these two schemes would draw two TMCs of water daily from the Srisailam backwaters during 60 flood days.

The Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme was designed to provide irrigation and drinking water to fluoride-affected areas in the erstwhile Nalgonda district. The scheme aims to collect water for the Devarakonda and Munugode constituencies.

Thummala Veerareddy demanded that the Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme be implemented from the Yedulla Reservoir as per the cabinet's decision. He stated that the people of Nalgonda district would strongly oppose the obstructionist stance taken by Mahabubnagar public representatives regarding the Narlapur-Yedulla stretch.
