The Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) and the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve scientific solid waste management in urban areas. The agreement was exchanged during a program held in Hyderabad on Saturday.

This collaboration aims to strengthen solid waste management practices in urban areas and enhance the skills of municipal officials. The goal is to foster the development of environment-friendly cities.

MMC Commissioner T Vinay Krishna Reddy and ASCI Director General N Ramesh Kumar exchanged the agreement. This took place during a capacity-building program focused on “Sustainable and Circular Solid Waste Management.”

The program included discussions on modern waste management techniques, efficient operational strategies, and sustainable practices. These methods are intended to support environmental conservation efforts.

Emphasis was also placed on the practical implementation of these practices at the field level. Officials believe this will lead to more effective waste management outcomes.

The MoU is designed to support sustainable urban development through training, the adoption of modern waste management practices, and building institutional capacity.
