Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao requested Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to formulate a common policy across Telangana to resolve the power line issues faced by oil palm farmers. The minister met the Chief Minister at his residence on Saturday and submitted a representation on this matter.
Minister Thummala appealed for the replacement of 11 KV bare conductors with covered conductors in oil palm plantations to prevent accidents. He stated that this measure would enhance safety for farmers working in these areas.
Beyond farmers' concerns, Minister Thummala also presented proposals to the Chief Minister aimed at reducing the cost of irrigation projects. They discussed several important aspects related to the state's development.
Minister Thummala explained that as oil palm cultivation expands in the state, power lines are becoming a challenge for farmers. He noted that both existing cultivators and those planning new oil palm plantations are encountering this problem.
