Villagers in Vadwat, Maganur mandal, Narayanpet district, are suffering from thirst as Mission Bhagiratha water supply has been disrupted. This issue has been severe since 2:17 AM IST on October 17, 2026.
For drinking water, villagers are resorting to fetching water in pots and cans from agricultural borewells. They have expressed deep dissatisfaction with this situation.
Locals have expressed anger, stating that despite the drinking water problem, no one is paying attention. They allege that officials are neglecting their plight.
When asked for an explanation, the Mission Bhagiratha AE stated that the motors supplying water are burning out due to low voltage. Additionally, pipeline leakages are occurring, which is disrupting the drinking water supply.
Meanwhile, farmers in Maganur fields are also protesting. They are in tears as their fields are drying up due to the lack of irrigation water from the Ranganayakasagar reservoir.
These developments clearly indicate that Narayanpet district is facing severe drinking water and irrigation water problems. Both the public and farmers are awaiting government assistance.
