MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Wednesday issued a statement refuting the police complaint filed against him by Sujana Reddy, wife of JNTU Vice-Chancellor Kishan Kumar Reddy. He clarified that there is no truth to the allegations that he abused and threatened her at a police station on the 8th of last month.
Palla Rajeshwar Reddy stated that he does not know who she is and has never met her. He explained that when he called the Vice-Chancellor, someone else answered, saying the VC was in the bathroom. He then cut the call, insisting he would speak only with the VC.
He later spoke directly with the Vice-Chancellor, questioning why he felt the need to use abusive language towards senior professors, especially female faculty members, at the university.
The MLA warned the Vice-Chancellor that if there was any opposition towards him, it should be addressed directly to him, and that disrespecting female professors was unacceptable. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy added that the Vice-Chancellor admitted his mistake and apologized.
This incident highlights the importance of transparency and respect in university administration. Such disputes in higher education institutions can erode trust among students and faculty members.
