MLA Premsagar Rao addressed reporters at his residence on Saturday. He advised farmers not to undertake paddy cultivation during the upcoming Rabi season.

He urged farmers to reconsider their cultivation plans due to the severe impact of El Niño. Rao stated that drought conditions are prevalent, and there is no possibility of providing electricity for cultivation even to those dependent on projects.

Rao recalled that irrigation water was successfully supplied during the Kharif season without causing damage to crops. However, he noted that cultivation in Rabi would be difficult under the current circumstances.

Premsagar Rao also appealed to farmers relying on borewells to refrain from cultivation in the Rabi season. He warned that a drinking water shortage could arise.
