Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday criticized YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Naidu alleged that Reddy is now opposing the Chief Election Commissioner selection because the election body did not act as he wished.
Naidu's comments followed remarks made by the former chief minister a day earlier. Reddy had expressed regret for supporting the 2023 legislation governing the selection of the Chief Election Commissioner when his party was in power in Andhra Pradesh.
Chief Minister Naidu also took issue with Reddy's recent statements that arresting CJP leaders would not resolve anything and that trust in the electoral process needed to be restored. Naidu stated he did not comprehend the reasoning behind Reddy's approach.
The disagreement has intensified discussions regarding electoral trust and the alleged political backing of criminal activities. This issue has brought a new focus to state political discourse.
