Andhra Pradesh authorities impounded seven mechanized trawlers belonging to Chennai fishermen off the Nellore coast after the fishing ban ended on June 14. The AP Coastal Task Force and fishers seized another boat the following month. Fishermen claim these boats are worth a total of ₹6 crore. According to The Times of India, they stated that the state government had failed to resolve the issue.

Despite repeated requests, the issue remains unresolved, as reported by The Times of India. Fishermen emphasize that each trawler supports at least 20 families, from fish catchers to sellers and boat mechanics. They are urging the government to address this matter promptly to ensure their livelihoods are not further impacted.
