Residents of remote tribal villages in Pembi mandal, Nirmal district, including Ramnagar, Yapalguda, Sattugudem, Nayakapuguda, Vasupalli, Chakirevu, Dondari, Pasupula, Harichanda Thanda, Tulisipet, Korikanti, and Gattigudem, are facing severe hardships. Their daily lives have become a torment due to the absence of a bridge over the Donthi Vagu, as reported by Disha daily.
Despite ten years since the formation of Telangana state, these tribal villages still lack proper road facilities, Disha daily stated. The villagers express their anguish, saying their lives are still stuck on the banks of the stream.
To reach the mandal center, for children to go to school, or for pregnant women and new mothers to visit hospitals, crossing the Donthi Vagu is unavoidable. This stream has become a major obstacle for the tribal villages in Pembi mandal, according to Disha daily.
Development seems to be elsewhere and has not reached their villages, Disha daily reported from Khanapur. The suffering endured by the tribals due to the lack of road facilities and a bridge in this area is indescribable.
The challenges faced by the residents of these remote tribal villages in Nirmal district highlight that there is still a long way to go in providing basic infrastructure in Telangana state. The construction of a bridge over the Donthi Vagu is an urgent necessity for the people of this region.
