Non-resident Indians held a rally in London on Saturday to show their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi outside the Indian High Commission. They condemned campaigns that are against India.
Participants carried tricolor flags and chanted slogans such as 'Modi, Modi,' 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai,' and 'Jai Shri Ram.' They stated they gathered to protect the nation's honor on foreign soil.
The demonstration took place amid protests by the Congress-led India alliance and the 'Cockroach Janata Party' against the Election Commission of India's special revision of electoral rolls. Opposition parties are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the ECI's actions.
An overseas Indian speaking to IANS said that critics should go to the courts with their grievances and not damage the country's reputation. They affirmed their support for the democratically elected government.
The 'Reach India' organization advised students not to associate with anti-India forces.
