Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu has set a target to complete the Polavaram project by 2027. Andhrajyothy reported that the state will seek 42,500 crore rupees from the Centre to complete this project.

Nimmala Ramanaidu stated that Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil appreciated the Chief Minister's efforts to complete the project within the stipulated timeline.

Nimmala briefed the media at AP Bhavan about Chandrababu's meeting with Patil. He urged the Centre to expedite the project.

Andhrajyothy reported that the Centre was requested to fast-track the interlinking of the Godavari-Cauvery rivers from Polavaram.

He mentioned that this interlinking would provide a permanent solution to the water problems of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry states.

The completion of the Polavaram project will address irrigation and drinking water issues for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, contributing to the development of these regions.
