Local residents staged a protest regarding the stalled road works on the Chodavaram-Narsipatnam stretch. They questioned the MLA about the delay and the abrupt halt of the project.
The MLA inaugurated the road works in Rolugunta village on September 6. However, the construction stopped after only three days.
Protestors highlighted that there are approximately 400 potholes along a three-kilometre stretch of the road. Due to the poor condition, passengers are hesitant to travel by bus from Chodavaram to Narsipatnam.
Officials had promised to complete the works by the first week of October. Despite this assurance, only about 50 metres of the road was completed before the work was halted.
The protestors questioned the MLA about the reason for stopping the works midway. They also asked whether the authorities intend to complete the project or merely limit it to paperwork.
Residents demanded an explanation from the MLA regarding the delay in the road works. They urged for the immediate resumption of construction.
