The Teachers' Struggle Associations Committee (USPC) held a protest at the Clock Tower Center in Nalgonda, demanding transparency in the Special Summary Revision (SIR) process for voter lists. USPC leaders urged the Election Commission to take steps to ensure that the names of eligible voters are not removed.
The protest took place on October 10, 2026, at 06:36 PM IST. USPC demanded an impartial inquiry into the objections raised regarding the SIR process, as reported by Namasthe Telangana.
Protesters also called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. USPC leader Narra Shekhar Reddy stated that decisions made in the election process should align with the spirit of democracy.
USPC leaders demanded the cancellation of new regulations introduced in Election Form-6. They also called for a review of the law enacted in 2023 to protect election commissioners.
These protests reflect public concerns in Telangana regarding the transparency of the electoral process. Ensuring that the voter list revision process is free from errors is crucial for democracy.
