Congress President YS Sharmila has strongly condemned the violent incidents occurring during the local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. She criticized both the ruling TDP and the opposition YSRCP, alleging their involvement in deplorable political practices across the state.
Through her X account, Sharmila severely criticized the conduct of the alliance government, the Election Commission, and the police. She expressed deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation during the electoral process.
Sharmila stated that the current TDP administration is witnessing atrocities that are worse than the violence observed during the previous YSRCP tenure. She highlighted an increase in retaliatory politics within the state.
She lamented that Andhra Pradesh, once known as Annapurna, is being transformed into another 'South Bihar'. Sharmila expressed anguish that the land of gems is becoming a land of blood due to these revenge-driven politics.
Sharmila criticized that elections, which should ideally be conducted in a peaceful environment, have been turned into a battlefield marked by clashes and attacks. She accused the Election Commission and the police of failing to curb this escalating violence.
