Despite extensive negotiations between the TDP and JSP leadership to reach a consensus on mayoral and municipal chairperson posts, ward-wise seat sharing remains a challenge in Krishna and NTR districts.

The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, which has 86 wards, has seen its Mayor post allotted to the JSP. The party initially sought over 30 wards, but discussions are currently centered on the allocation of approximately 20 seats.

The proposed distribution of wards includes seven each in Vijayawada East and Central, and six in Vijayawada West. This allocation aims to balance the demands of both alliance partners.

Many aspirants within both parties are reluctant to concede their claims, especially those who have dedicated years to strengthening their party base and preparing for the upcoming municipal elections.

With the nomination process already underway, the ongoing uncertainty regarding the final distribution of wards is increasing pressure on both parties to quickly resolve their differences.

The leadership of both parties is actively working to address these issues and finalize the seat-sharing arrangement before the election process progresses further.
