The Telugu Desam Party has released its initial list of candidates for the upcoming elections to corporations, municipalities, and nagar panchayats in Andhra Pradesh. The party announced its candidates for mayor in seven corporations and for chairperson in 26 municipalities and three nagar panchayats.
This first list, comprising 36 candidates, prioritizes representation for Backward Classes. Candidates from BC communities have also been selected for the general women's seats in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram.
As part of the seat-sharing arrangement with its alliance partners, the Telugu Desam Party will contest in a total of 11 corporations. Elections are scheduled to take place in ten locations during the first phase.
The candidates named in this list will represent the party in the local body elections. This decision was made by the party's high command.
