Tension erupted in Tirupati during the local body election nomination process. TDP workers obstructed MP Dr. Maddila Gurumoorthy and MLC Sipayi Subramanyam as they went to file nominations.
Dr. Gurumoorthy stated that he and MLC Subramanyam were on their way to file nominations for their party's mayoral candidate, Vasu Yadav, when TDP activists stopped them. He alleged that nomination papers were snatched from his hands.
The incident occurred near the nomination center opposite the Tirupati Municipal Corporation office. Dr. Gurumoorthy criticized the police for failing to provide security to elected representatives during the process.
He expressed anger, stating that they are direct witnesses to how the election process is being conducted in the state. Dr. Gurumoorthy urged the police to take immediate action.
