Over 1.5 lakh voters in Hyderabad missed their scheduled hearings as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana. This significant number raises concerns about the accuracy and completeness of the voter list.

According to data from the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer, a total of 1,50,260 electors in the city failed to attend their hearings. These hearings are crucial for verifying voter details and addressing any discrepancies.

Across the entire state, hearing dates had lapsed for a staggering 6,70,299 voters as of Tuesday, October 13. This indicates a widespread issue of non-attendance in the revision process.

Furthermore, an additional 15,281 electors missed their rescheduled appointments, compounding the challenges in completing the electoral roll revision efficiently.

Beyond Hyderabad, neighboring districts also reported high numbers of missed hearings. Rangareddy recorded the second-highest at 1,02,182, followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri with 78,301 missed hearings.

These missed hearings could impact the integrity of the electoral rolls ahead of upcoming elections in Telangana. It is vital for eligible voters to ensure their details are correct and updated.
