Telangana state employees and pensioners are set to receive two Dearness Allowances (DAs) along with their October salaries, Andhrajyothy reported. These DAs pertain to January and July 2024.

According to Andhrajyothy, the DA effective from January 1, 2024, is 3.64 percent, and the DA effective from July 1, 2024, is 2.73 percent. Both these DAs will be merged into the basic pay of the employees.

The total additional amount to be merged into employees' salaries due to these two DAs will be 6.37 percent. The finance department has issued orders to this effect, as per Andhrajyothy.

It has been decided to deposit the arrears of these DAs into GPF accounts. This move is expected to impose a burden of approximately 2,500 crore rupees on the state exchequer, Andhrajyothy stated.

While a total of six DAs are currently pending, the government has decided to implement two of them now. No decision has yet been made regarding the remaining DAs.

This decision will provide significant financial relief to government employees and pensioners in Telangana, boosting their purchasing power, especially during the festive season.
