Telangana's power sector is in a deep crisis, Namasthe Telangana has reported. The Congress government in the state has completely failed to increase power generation capacity and efficiently operate existing plants, the newspaper stated.

Namasthe Telangana indicated that the state's GenCo is struggling. Despite increasing power consumption and demand, GenCo plants are producing only 100 million units of electricity per day.

Telangana's power sector, which has been facing fluctuations for three years, has now plunged into a crisis, Namasthe Telangana noted. The newspaper suggested that this situation could worsen by October 8, 2026.

Currently, hydroelectric power plants are already idle. Namasthe Telangana reported that the state is forced to make large purchases of electricity from the open market.

Namasthe Telangana stated that plants are facing difficulties due to continuous shutdowns. This is disrupting power supply in the state.

The reduction in power generation and increased demand in Telangana mean that the state's residents are likely to face power cuts and supply interruptions. This will severely impact daily life and economic activities.
