The Congress government in Telangana is facing a severe financial crisis, Disha daily reported. The government is grappling with mounting financial challenges, including pending bills, contractor dues, deferred Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees, and issues with pensioner payments.
Upon assuming office in December 2023, the new government inherited a substantial burden of approximately Rs. 40,000 crore in old bills from the previous administration, according to Disha daily.
Clearing a primary portion of this, estimated at around Rs. 25,000 crore, has become a significant responsibility for the new government.
The current financial situation is severely impacting contractors, government employees, and pensioners, leading to delays in their payments.
These financial challenges are creating obstacles for the Congress government in implementing development projects and welfare schemes across Telangana.
This situation raises concerns about the state's financial stability, which directly impacts the livelihoods of the people of Telangana.
