Hyderabad district has recorded the highest number of Form 6 applications as part of Telangana's ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program. Hyderabad led with 1,94,204 updated entries, followed by Rangareddy with 74,375 and Medchal Malkajgiri with 64,863, as reported by The Siasat Daily.
Over a million applications have been submitted for new voter registrations (Form 6), overseas voters and NRIs (Form 6A), deletions and objections (Form 7), and corrections and address modifications (Form 8) during this special revision process, according to The Siasat Daily.
The period for claims and objections concluded on Wednesday, October 7, The Siasat Daily stated.
Hyderabad dominated the overall electoral modification process. In Hyderabad, 1,94,204 voters were added to the electoral rolls, even though only 29,226 fresh applications were submitted within the four-month window from June 15 to October 7, The Siasat Daily reported.
The high number of additions indicates that election staff are actively clearing a massive backlog of older pending applications that were filed earlier, The Siasat Daily noted.
This revision process is crucial for voters in Telangana as it ensures their details are accurately reflected in the electoral rolls, enabling them to exercise their franchise in upcoming elections.
