Telugu people living in Qatar now have a common platform. The Telugu Diaspora Federation (TDF) was launched this week with the aim of bringing the community together under one umbrella.
The federation's main goal is to protect and promote the Telugu language, culture and traditions among Telugu families in the Gulf country.
Why it matters
Many workers and professionals from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana live and work in Qatar. Far from home, associations like this give families a place to celebrate festivals together and support each other.
