Tense situations arose in Punganur, Annamayya district, during the local body nominations. Clashes occurred between YCP and Telugu Desam Party cadres on the very first day of nominations.
YCP Lok Sabha floor leader and Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy, along with other leaders, went to the Punganur nomination center to file nominations on behalf of YCP candidates.
During this time, TDP cadres attacked Mithun Reddy's convoy with stones and sticks. This incident led to severe tension in the area.
The occurrence of these clashes right at the start of the local body election nomination process is a cause for concern.
As the election atmosphere heats up in the state, such incidents could pose a challenge to law and order.
