Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao stated on Saturday that farmers require more than just assurances, awareness programs, or advice. He emphasized that what they truly need is adequate financial support and an assured Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their cultivated crops.
Rao participated in a video conference chaired by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. During this meeting, he announced that a 'save farms' campaign would be conducted across Telangana from October 22 to November 30.
Regarding the current kharif season, the minister noted that the state government is actively evaluating the condition of crops. He added that efforts are underway to conserve the available water resources.
The government has also instructed officials to ensure the supply of irrigation water and electricity. This directive aims to safeguard crops until they are ready for harvest, Rao confirmed.
