Two with Telugu roots

  • Saritha Komatireddy (Republican, New York Attorney General): Telangana-origin former federal prosecutor. A Siena poll on October 28 had Democrat Letitia James at 54% and Komatireddy at 39%. Her campaign says it has raised over $1 million since the October 9 debate. A James spokeswoman said Komatireddy "has no respect for the law".
  • Aruna Miller (Democrat, Maryland): born in Hyderabad, moved to the US at seven, and seeking another term as Lieutenant Governor alongside Governor Wes Moore.

Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Ohio governor and Nithya Raman for Los Angeles mayor. First results come soon after polls close, but close races can take hours or days, WION notes.
