Chityala Rajanna (57), a village panchayat worker in Ervachintal village, Khanapur mandal, Nirmal district, died of a severe heart attack while on duty on Monday. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the village.
Rajanna had been working as a multi-purpose worker in the village panchayat for the past 20 years. He reported for duty at 7 AM on Monday.
He went to work early in anticipation of the Mandal MPDO's visit to the village. After sweeping the streets in Chamanpally Thanda, he was clearing accumulated garbage in the SC Colony.
While clearing the garbage, he suffered a severe heart attack and collapsed on the road.
According to his family and villagers, Rajanna's sudden demise has left his family in deep sorrow.
Local authorities are taking further action regarding the incident.
