Suraram Sujatha, a 60-year-old woman from Reddypalem village in Geesukonda mandal, Warangal district, died of a heart attack during Saddula Bathukamma celebrations on Sunday.
She was participating in the festivities at Enumamula Kotacheruvu when she suddenly collapsed while playing Bathukamma with other local women.
Sujatha was immediately rushed to MGM Hospital for medical attention. Despite efforts, she succumbed while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The incident cast a pall of gloom over the Bathukamma celebrations in the area. Her family and local residents expressed deep shock at the sudden demise.
