Suresh Naik, Chief Engineer of Yadadri Thermal Power Station Stage 1 in Damaracherla, Nalgonda district, was suspended from his duties on October 15. This action was taken by Genco CMD Harish Kumar, following directives from the Energy Secretary.

The suspension comes after the 800 MW Unit-1 at YTPS was kept in shutdown for 10-15 days, halting power generation. Allegations of generation loss due to this shutdown have surfaced.

Officials stated that the action was taken due to negligence in staff coordination, reviews, and the management of pending works. It appears that higher authorities are taking this matter seriously.

This is the second suspension at the power plant in recent times, following the suspension of DE IDO last month over deficiencies in oil stock management.

Delays in power generation and operational lapses could impact the state's electricity supply. These developments underscore the need for transparency and accountability in the power sector within the state.
