Yerraguntla police have issued strict guidelines for the upcoming local body election nomination process, which begins on October 21. Yerraguntla CI Viswanatha Reddy and SI Nagama announced these instructions, following orders from the District SP and Jammalamadugu DSP.
Candidates participating in the nomination process may enter the Mandal Praja Parishad office with only their proposer and one witness. This means a total of three individuals will be allowed inside for each nomination.
Police have also instructed candidates and their accompanying persons to park their vehicles at least 500 meters away from the office. They must then proceed to the office on foot.
Individuals who do not have a vote in the Yerraguntla mandal or are from other areas are strictly prohibited from attending the nomination proceedings. Police warned against any violations of this rule.
CI Viswanatha Reddy stated that anyone found violating these instructions would face legal action under Section 144, as per the orders of the Mandal Tahsildar. The police urged everyone to cooperate for a smooth election process.
