Last week, young protesters across the country breached barricades, chanted anti-government slogans, and clashed with police officers who attempted to stop them. These incidents occurred despite the deployment of over 10,000 security personnel.

The independent organization Armed Conflict Location and Event Data (ACLED) Project stated that with growing dissent against the Narendra Modi government, particularly among the youth taking to the streets, street protests in the country this year are likely to be the highest in a decade.

Analysts believe that these youth-led protests, coupled with increasing support for the opposition, represent the most severe crisis Modi has faced since coming to power in 2014.

It is noteworthy that nearly a quarter of the country's 100 crore voters are under the age of 30. This younger generation is actively participating in the protests.

The ACLED Project study revealed that further dissent from the youth is expected in the coming days, which will increase pressure on the government.

Youth in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also closely observing these nationwide developments. The concerns and demands of the younger generation are likely to influence government policies.
